PedigreeChartMaker

PRIVACY

Privacy policy

Last updated: August 2026

The short version

  • No account. The maker works without any sign-up.
  • All editing happens in your browser; charts autosave to local storage.
  • Nothing about your family data is uploaded, logged, or shared.
  • No analytics, no cookies for tracking, no fingerprinting.
  • The only data transmitted is the contact form, if you choose to send it.
  • The open-source fonts and libraries used (React, ELK layout, and others) are listed on our software credits page.

What we store, and where

The pedigree maker is a purely client-side application. There is no server that receives your project data. The table below is the complete list of data the site stores or sends.

Data Where it lives
Projects in progress Browser local storage, under the pedigree-maker key. Removed if you clear site data or the browser profile.
Undo history In memory only; lost on refresh.
Preferences Browser local storage (for example, your grid or export preferences).
Contact form messages Sent to our support inbox, only when you submit.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising, third-party tracking cookies, or fingerprinting. The optional analytics script on marketing pages is server-side-aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics that collects no personal data; it is disabled by default in this build.

Contact form

The contact form emails your message to our support inbox. Only the text you type and your reply address are transmitted. Messages are used solely to respond and are not sold or shared.

Third-party services

The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers process page requests in the normal way (standard access logs). The fonts, icons, and libraries we use are open-source; see the credits in the footer for the list.

Children and sensitive data

The tool may be used to record family health history, which can be sensitive. Because everything stays on the device, no special data protection obligations apply to us beyond this policy. If you are a school or clinic, follow your own data-protection rules when choosing what to record.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Questions: contact form.
